A little more about me…

I’ve always been drawn to performing and connecting with people, whether that’s been on stage or behind a microphone. My passion for storytelling began with opera singing as I performed at weddings and competitions. It was through these early performances that I learned how to communicate emotion, hold attention, and build a connection with an audience. These are skills that now influence my approach to journalism.

My route into journalism started in an unexpected but defining way: I applied for a position at BBC Radio Lincolnshire after seeing a Facebook ad in my second year of university at Newcastle. This opportunity introduced me to the fast-paced, ever-changing world of broadcast journalism and I quickly realised it was exactly where I wanted to be.

In a world that can often feel overwhelming, I’m interested in journalism that not only informs but also gives people a renewed sense of hope and perspective. I have a deep love for film, TV, and pop culture, but I’m equally passionate about community-focused storytelling, shining a light on underrepresented voices.

I love to travel and I’ve worked internationally as a Marketing and Business Intern with Piktalent in Sevilla, Spain. This experience taught me how to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds often battling a language barrier.

Today, whether I’m reporting, producing, or presenting, my goal is always the same: to tell stories that creates connection.
